One of the trends that keeps popping up on my Insta feed is Acrylic Fluid Painting. It is everywhere and it is hypnotic. Its almost just as satisfying as slime.
Here is a super quick tutorial to paint at home your own Acrylic Fluid Painting and brighten up your home.
Tip One – ensure everything is covered with old news papers or sheets as the process can get a bit messy.
Tip Two – do not mix too many colours. Choose up to 5 colours to ensure painting is not too muddied and you get those rivers of fluid hypnotic paint across the canvas. Don’t get discouraged if you only have basic colours. Mix them up and get the color you want.
- Pick the canvas of your choice and cover it with layer of white acrylic paint. This will help paint to flow across smoother. Acrylic texture mediums could also be used if you have a specific pattern in mind for the painting in order to direct fluid paint in specific direction. Let it dry.
- Start mixing paint. Keep one jar to pour in chosen colours and have a few separate jars to premix acrylic paint. Premix acrylic paint by adding maximum of 50% water otherwise it can get too runny and loose its pigmentation.
Water Down Acrylic Paint - I started with lighter colour of the spectrum first. Pour all the premixed acrylic paint into your clean jar in any pattern you fancy.
- Put canvas on top of the jar and turn it upside down trying not to spill the paint. Spread the paint across the canvas equally but don’t necessarily move it around too much. Leave until dry.
